MTT-1070

MTT-1070 Intelligence Multifunction Network Cable Tester use micro-electronic technique to analyses and executes the test content through CPU. It can fast and exactly judge if cable is in a normal function, and also judge what the error is when it is malfunction. The display of MTT-1070 is made of LED. It can tell the situation of just press the “TEST” button, within a few secondes, the test process will be completed and the result is shown.

MTT-1070 is used to test cable of RJ-45, RJ-11, USB, BNC and all the cables that the cores are less than nine wires.

MTT-1070 has characteristics of efficient, high veracity, test complex malfunction, direct display, easy to operate and portable. It is specially use for construction, QA for acceptance, network installation, and scientific experiments.

Features
  • Before testing, MTT-1070 will test the voltage of battery automatically. If the voltage of battery is right, the “POWER” light lights, the unit works normally, if the voltage is too low, the light “LOWBATTERY”lights, and the bell rings continuously, that the unit stops working.
  • Judge if the cable is a normal function. When the cable is in a normal function, the tester will give out a normal sound, the “CONT” light will be lighten, the corresponding light of each wire will become green.
  • Judge if the cable is in an open circuit situation. When the cableis open circuit (broken circuit), the tester will give out an abnormal sound, the “NO CONNECTION” light will belighten, the correspondinglight of the broken wire will become red.
  • Judge if the cable is in a short circuit situation. When the cable is short circuit, the tester will give out an abnormal sound, the “SHORT” light willbe lighten, the corresponding light of the short wire will become red.
  • Judge if the wire is in a cross circuit situation. When the wire is cross circuit, the tester will give out an abnormal sound, the “CROSS” light will be lighten, the corresponding light of the cross wire will be lighten.
    • Judge if the shield (gounding wire) is connected. When the shield (grounding wire) is connected in the normal way, the corresponding light will be lightening.
    • Judge the malfunction that appeared at the same time. When there are more than one kind of cable malfunction, the different type of malfunction light will be lighten, the corresponding light will be lighten at the same time, and the tester will give out an abnormal sound.
     
    Work Theory
    When the power is on, the socket os master unit will send out a succession of test signal through the testing cable, the terminator will send the received signal back to the master unit. The microcomputer inside the master unit will settle and compare the signal and save the result. At the same time, the tester will give out correlative sound and show the test result. If there ismore than one kind os cable malfunction, the microcomputer will show different kinds of malfunction in different period of time. As long as press the “TEST” key continuously, the result will circular display if the power is on.

    Operation
    A. Put one side of the cable into the corresponding socket of Master Unit and another side into the corresponding socket of terminator.

    B. Press the “test” button.

      1. If you hear a long sound “tick------“ after 2 seconds, it means all the wires are in normal function. The corresponding light from 1-9 will be lighten. The green light means the continuity of cable, if the light is off, it´s means this line is empty. LED light should show the following results:

        • If test by RJ-45 socket, “CONT” light will show green, the lights which corresponding the 1----8 lines will show green, if the cable have shield (grounding wire), the 9 th light will show green too.
        • If test RJ-11socket, “CONT” light will show green, the lights which corresponding the 1-----6 lines will show green.
        • If test by USB socket, the “CONT” light will show green, the lights which correponding the 1---4 lines will show green, if the cable h ave shield (grounding wire), the 5 th light will show green.
        • If test by BNC socket, “CONT” light will show green, the lights which corresponding the 1 – 2 lines will show green.

      2. If you hear three short sounds “tick, tick, tick”, that means the wires are in abnormal function, LED light will show the following results:

        • “NO CONNECTION” light will be yellow, which means the cable is in open circuit.
        • “SHORT” light will be red, which means the cable is short circuit.
        • “CROSS” light will be blue, which means the cable is cross circuit.
        • If the red, yellow and blue light are alternately flashing, or any two lights among them are alternately flashing, that menas the circuiltry are open circuit, short circuit and cross circuit at same time.

      3. When there is a malfunction, please observe the 1----G lights, if any light become red, that means the line have malfunction.

      4. When you test RJ-45 and USB, the “G” light delegate the shield (grouding wire) of RJ-45, and the 5 th light delegate the shield (grounding Wire) of USB.

      5. When testing the BNC wire, please use the BNC switch wire.

    When the test is over, release the “TEST” button.

     
    Attention
    When there are more two kinds of malfunction, please completely observe one cycle, and exit until display next cycle.
    Test the following cables: RJ-45 cable without shield (grounding wire) (the G line is empty).
      RJ-11 cable (the 7 th , 8 th , G lines are empty)
      USB with shield (grounding wire) (the 6 th , 7 th , 8 th and G lines are empty).
      USB without shield (grounding wire) (the 5 th , 6 th , 7 th , 8 th and G lines are empty).
      BNC cable ( 3 th, 4 th , 5 th , 6 th , 7 th , 8 th , G are empty) : if the cable is without error, the empty lights will not be lighten, and the other lights become green. The pictures are as following: if the cable have malfunction, MTT - 1070 will automatic judge the empty lines as open circuit, the lights of empty lines will become red, the picture will be opposite as following:
    Should change the battery at once, otherwise will stop working automatically.

    Strictly prohibit insert the cable of which is connected with electricity into the socket of MTT 1070, otherwise the tester will be damaged by high voltage. When the tester is not in use, take out the battery, to avoid the misconnect and battery waste.

    Low voltage indicator light may not work (not lighten) when the voltage value of battery is too low, please check the battery if the test result is not correct.
